Time to celebrate Oktoberfest!
What an exciting summer we had. It seems like just a couple of weeks ago we were finishing the last few details on Mark Platt’s Pro-Tour ‘X’ for the S&S Cycle 50th Anniversary competition www.sscycle50th.com and here we are going into October already!

The end of September brings about the annual Oktoberfest celebration here in La Crosse. Its always a special time of year for those of us who are so blessed to live here in “God’s Country”. People come into the area from all over the USA for this great celebration and with good reason… as demonstrated during the S&S 50th, the entire community WELCOMES people to our part of the world. That’s one of the main reasons I moved here back in 1978. You could just sense the friendly nature of this area. So if you’re heading this way be sure to stop in and say Hello. We love meeting new people!
We’re finishing up a number of projects in the shop right now that were put on hold earlier in the summer, and by getting these done we’re making room for our rapidly filling winter schedule. One of these projects is on a bike that was built by Brian & Laura Klock and the team at Klockwerks Kustom Cycle in Mitchell S.D. www.kustomcycles.com It’s a gorgeous War Eagle Softail that they built for a person named Mark Puterbaugh a few years ago and I’ve never met the guy but he must be one TALL dude because the handlebars were WAAYY to far forward for the bike’s new owner Randy Winchel, who is ‘normal’ sized. So we’re reworking the handlebars to be a perfect fit for Randy and spot painting the frame where tabs were welded on to attach Randy’s awesome FrameLock to the bike when transporting it. Randy is the owner/inventor of the FrameLock device and if you want to see the absolute SAFEST way to transport your motorcycle you need to visit www.framelock.com. A very informative website with cool videos showing just how solid this bike fastening system actually is. If you’re interested in purchasing one, DOUGZ is a dealer so just give us a call and we’ll get one coming your way.
We’ve got the molds out for the inner & outer fairing as well as the clamshell we’ll be creating for the Pro-Tour ‘S’ - the bike we’ll introduce early in 2009 - so this means we’re beginning to get solidly back into that build. Most comments so far have been very positive and we’re looking forward to seeing the reaction to this bike when it begins making the shows. Our plans at this point are the Supercycle show in Chicago, both Donnie Smith shows, the GCRA show right here in La Crosse, possibly the V-Twin Expo in Cincinnati to name a few. Stay tuned…
As mentioned earlier, our winter schedule is filling up fast but don’t let that deter you from giving us a shout or email. We’ll do our level best to make your dreams become a reality. Whether its on your Street Rod, Motorcycle, Exotic car, Truck, Whatever! We’re here for all your custom painting desires and we can get you hooked up with any accessories you may need as well. We are dealers for Drag Specialties, Biker’s Choice, Custom Chrome, Midwest Motorcycle Supply, Mid-USA, Performance Machine, Precision Metal Fab Racing, RC Components, Kustomwerks, Arlen Ness, Pro-One, Corbin, Vance & Hines, Budnick, Keystone Automotive, etc. etc. etc. Over 50 different suppliers.
